For the past 45 years, I have been a painter. I grew up painting still-life, portraits, figures and landscapes. I learned Fine Art formally while attending the School For American Craftsman in Rochester NY at RIT and also had the opportunity during my formative years to study Art abroad. I love to paint & draw – and teach painting, which I’ve been doing for over 30 years. I have recently been painting many local scenes and have hoped to become recognizable as a “home town painter.” Living in the foothills of the Green Mountains and the Taconics I have been inspired by my local surroundings. Each painting begins with an architectural strategy – even if I’m painting nature or a still-life, I like to build and I love to connect shapes, edges and colors to create depth and an understanding of my subject through my paint brush. Come meet me at my studio December 2 & 3 at 127 East Main street.
